Not a form. part of the Vitamin E complex.

There are 8 parts of the Vitamin E complex.

Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta tocopherols AND
Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta Tototrienols.

The tocotrielols penetrate much deeper into fatty tissue. Much research has been done on the Gamma, and Delta 'trienols in recent years.

I thought you couldn't take tocotrienols and tocopherols together at the same time?

"I thought you couldn't take tocotrienols and tocopherols together at the same time?"

I read that also. I read that too much tocopherols interfere with the activity of the tocotrienols. Some suggest this at > 10 percent tocopherols.

In the link above they used the palm oil tocotrienols which I believe has a natural ratio from the palm oil greater than the 10 percent.

The the palm oil tocotrienols which we use has has 14.7 mg (22 IUs) (more than the 10 percent) d-alpha-tocopherol. Other brands have different ratios.

here's the product we use:

In Dr Cobb's ebook on the home page here he says -

In my opinion, the best vitamin E supplements are produced by A. C. Grace. They put the four tocopherols in one supplement, and the four tocotrienols in a second supplement. They don’t combine them, because they compete for assimilation; and Grace’s position is that they should be taken at different times during the day.

Maybe the Supplement company may have more information on why they have come to that conclusion?

I've been giving my spouse full spectrum Vit E for a number of years now but only recently read the above so I may be buying the Grace supplements now.

a program of dietary supplements slowed the progression of calcium deposits in coronary arteries

Don't we call that "vitamin k"?

I noticed in the article Bierbaum said they were giving people large does of calcium. No mention of using vitamin k to keep it from depositing in said arteries.

It's unclear if the plaque reduction effect of tocotrienols is important if you're also taking lysine & proline. The stenosis regression effect is interesting, but it's unclear whether pro-collagen substances like vitamin c might do a better job at it.

AC Grace's mixed tocopherol product is quite expensive. I take Puritan's 1000-IU mixed tocopherol product 2x/day instead. AC Grace's "tocopherol-free" Unique Tocotrienols product is 90% delta and 10% gamma.
