The doc switched me to Cozaar 50mg. The coughing is dying down, which is great, but....

While the 10mg of Lisinopril was effective at keeping my systolic numbers under 130, the 50mg Cozaar (well, I'm assuming it's the Cozaar that's failing to work) has allowed my systolic to rise to 145. Eek! I do not have diastolic hypertension, that always stays 80 or below no matter what my systolic number gets to. The lisinopril pushed my diastolic number into the low 60s.

Got a call into my cardiologist to see what he wants to do about this revolting development.

Give some time for Cozar to get into your system & for a man of yr age systolic under 150 is fine. Have you added oxidants to the other ortho drugs/antioxidants?

Just got the HbA1 today: 11.4, which apparently translates to ~275 BG.

I've been running 100s-120s on the glucose meter for the last week and a half, further improvement should be coming.

Doctor never ordered lipids, I'll be giving him a piece of my mind on that matter in my appt next week.

Ok, I'll try to be patient.

I'm not sure which ones are the oxidants. I've added 3000mg/day of NAC and 10mg of astaxanthin to my regimen.

Hi eDoc,

I noticed you recommended Randian take "oxidants" several times during the day.

Questions: What are these oxidants? Are they better and/or different than the dehydroascorbate made naturally in the body?

I have never heard of ingesting oxidants for a therapeutic benefit!

Anyone who would care to comment is more than welcome.

Thanks,

David
JFYI, I have ingested a Bowel Tolerance dose of ascorbic acid [via one gram tablets], in HEALTH, not illness [of which I have had virtually none], basically every day since 1994, amounting to [currently], on average, 75+ grams [daily], in 10 to 15 divided doses.
