added on page 127 of Death by Calcium Levy says that the GLAKAY (registered trademark) brand comes in 15 mg capsules of MK-4. From Japan, may require prescription. If an osteoporosis patient can't get the Japanese pills, Levy recommends at least 3 Super-K per day.

I would think the worst think that could happen is that you develop low blood calcium levels because the Vitamin K is getting it all into the bone matrix. But you'd have to take gobs of it to do that I would think.

I found 100 mcg of k2-7 for pretty cheap here. I figure I can take 4 a day.

Now, I just have to find a high dose k1. I can't find a high dose K1 that even approaches 5 mg.

All I can find on Amazon is 25 mg and 50 mg for pets. You think I'd be OK taking one every 5 days? Or would I OD on K1?

This was the highest dose K1 I could find. It has a little bit of calcium in it, and phosphorous. I know phosphorous is really important, so I don't think it's too much calcium. I would think that, as long as you're getting enough K you probably wouldn't be able to OD on calcium, because the K will make sure it goes where it needs to.

I'm a little confused. I thought k1 was more for blood stuff as opposed to bone remineralizing. And the K2 series was more for bone. Why does Dr levy say you need K1 also?

What's Astaxanthin and what is it good for?

And what's the grape seed extract good for?

I just looked at that.

It's about the same price as relentless improvement's, except it only has 60 capsules instead of 90. But, each capsule is 25 mg of K2 instead of 15, Plus it has 500 micrograms of k7 and 5 mg of K1 that relentless improvement doesn't have that I had to buy separately.

So, I think when I'm ready to purchase more relentless improvement formula, I'm going to get this instead.

Levy states 200-1000mg in his book stop americas number 1 killer. I personally try and get 800mg day from supplements.

Magnesium, like many minerals can become depleted and to truely build sufficiency you need to take excess for a whole to build up stores in tissue to optimal levels. I recently watched a vid put on by a doc who was an advocate and basically said use bowel tolerance as a guide to your dosing. Since magnesium can lead to diarhea if too much is consumed, take until you get lose stools, then back off the dose a bit.

I use Mg Glutinate.

I can take a thousand multiple times a day of it w/o bowel issues.

I was more interested in it's use for Bone/teeth remineralization. I would imagine if you're wanting to build bones you'd need more then the amount needed just to maintain bones but help with arterial scurvy.

Just reread this in light of Dr Levy's new book. (Which I got a hold of last week and Read.)

I find it curious that Levy doesn't recommend Vitamin A at all in his book, except in passing that it can prevent Vitamin D toxicity.

You cannot be an expert in everything - almost by definition. But Dr. Levy's books are comprehensive and authoritative. I would have liked to have seen more about vitamin A, especially w/r to bone repair, which is an underlying theme of the book.

But its absence is far from a fatal flaw. We happen to discuss it here at this forum. How many other places -other than Weston Price - discuss vitamin A? (I am still wondering about their reported puny vitamin A recommendation !?! Maybe that was a misprint in another post. How why would the world's strongest proponent of vitamin A recommend 1/10 of the RDA? Can anyone find the reference?)

No, it's certainly not a fatal flaw.

I just find it interesting.

Levy warns against D toxicity.

However it seems to me from everything I understand, is that D toxicity is basically making more carboxl then can be processed. If you're taking high dose K along with it, I would think D toxicity would be impossible.

Anyway,

Tracy
