I have been taking high doses of vitamin c for about 11 months. My Lp-PLA2 has been continually climbing. started off at 200, now at 307. Any ideas of why this is happening and what it indicates? For the last couple of months I take 40 gms of vitamin c a day. Two scoops of cardio-c and 35 solgar 1000mg vitamin c capsules.

Lipoprotein-Associated Phospholipase A2

Does this test have other names?
Lp-PLA2

What is this test?
This test looks for a specific lipoprotein, Lp-PLA2, in your blood. The test is used to help predict your risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke.

New research suggests that Lp-PLA2 may better show who is at risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke than HDL ("good) cholesterol, LDL ("bad") cholesterol, and VLDL cholesterol.
