Thank you for finding this. When they say, "Mice bred" for this kind of study, do you know what they mean? There are now strains of mice which do not make their own vitamin C. These mice would be ideal study subjects.

I missed any practical relevance of this study to people in the real world other than those with familial hypercholesterolemia or a family history of early onset alzheimers. (or rats that have been bred to be FUBAR)

In this study there were 2 groups of mice that were apolipoprotein-E deficient and gulonolactone oxidase deficient. The second group was also SVCT2 (the vitamin C transporter) disabled.
The diets were 16% fat and .2% cholesterol.
