No progress on 2500 mg C/lysine

Post Number:#1  Post by ofonorow » Tue Sep 20, 2011 3:54 am

I have a friend who has been on the 2500mg C/lysine/proline program for 2 years. There has been no progress. Legs, heart and carotids still blocked to the point they want to go in with stents, etc. BP HIGH. His diet is very good. Fish oil and 800 E per day.

Have you ever run into anything like this?

Could there be severe inflammation causing the body wanting to repair damage?

He is reluctant to write.
Thanks,
Carl

Surprising, but my first reaction is that 2500 mg is Pauling's preventive, not therapeutic dosage. "No progress" implies that he has CVD. I would normally recommend at least 10,000 mg vitamin C daily for someone with diagnosed cardiovascular disease. (and 6000 mg lysine, 500-1000 mg proline). So he may be taking only 25% of what he personally requires to turn things around. This post by a cardiologist is instructive re: dosage:
