Difference between sodium ascorbate and sodium chloride IV?

Hello,
Do you have any specific info going into details about why sodium ascorbate is safe in situations where sodium chloride is not?

This question is rather ambiguous since their talking about two different compounds and it would hard to be specific about comparing reactions.
About the only one that would come close is if the patient has high sodium levels to begin with.
Perhaps if they specify what type of reaction they have with saline we could see if it's the sodium or the chloride that is presenting the problem then compare the side effect to the SA.
Other then that if someone is compounding the SA with saline there maybe a problem but the proper way to mix SA/IV is with sterile water not saline! We discussed this before about some providers using saline.
