How much Baking Soda should I add to ascorbic acid
Pauling was unspecific, and I would say as much/little as you need to ease the irritation to the esophagus. I now make about one-half my vitamin C drink sodium ascorbate, and I see no reason to fear sodium. Thousands of people routinely get sodium ascorbate Intravenously! This "extra" sodium seems to have no or little effect, and after all, our blood streams have about as much salt as the ocean! (Or should have.)
I read Linus Pauling's book about vitamin C when I was a teenager in the 60's, and have taken generous amounts ever since, with many benefits. Can you please tell me how to use baking soda with your Vitamin C powder to reduce acidity (how much to add to a serving, for example), before I order? I have been using Sodium Ascorbate for a while now, but am wondering if that is a good idea when taking higher amounts daily. One teaspoon of this contains 4,000+ mg. of C, but over 500 mg. of sodium, so I want to get less than that if I mix in my own. Thank you for your info.
