Re: Cyanide Pathway to ascorbic acid synthesis in humans
I might have more confidence in a 58 year old study, that one funded today by an industry that now has more money than our government. We have no idea about our daily requirement of B17, and a requirement must be needed because B17 is in the bean/lentil food grouping which is an important sources of protein.

I have been taking up to 20 raw peruano beans throughout the day and I feel much better and have more energy.Several of my friends are using peruano beans now and are getting good results. We notice no ill effects. One article on the internet says right out that cancer now running rampant is due to the vitamin B17 lack in our diet. Thanks,Van

My thought is that the Hunzas(in their use of apricots and the apricot pits)have found one remedy for our ancient gulonolactone oxidase enzyme disorder.I hope this helps,Thanks, Van

This is interesting in that cyanide particles can build up in your system till they reach a point of poisoning the system. Guess people who ingest cyanide from pits should keep a sodium thiosulfate kit on hand just in case! http://toxicology.ucsd.edu/Newsletters/ ... yanide.pdf

Cyanide is poison and will kill you quite effectively. This thread ought to be bilged less one bit of scientific evidence can be brought forth.
Telling people "5 raw black beans chewed up" will kick start endogenous ascorbate synthesis just tarnishes the credibility of this forum.

I agree. It's an unsupported assertion that ignores the basic genetics and biochemistry.

Look up:In Extremis,First Aid for Terminal Cancer Patients. It mentions that vitamin B12(which has a cyanide component)actually changes to cobalt ascorbate in our body.At one time the Vitamin C Foundation had this article posted.I hope this helps,Van

This is the link to the article you mention: http://www.alternativehealth.co.nz/cancer/vitciv3.htm. To the naysayers in this forum: You are the ones with closed minds that makes one not want to even come to this forum. Why do you travel if you never get off the driven path? Just my 2 cents worth.
