How does one determine correct Pauling Therapy dosage?

How do you determine how much you need to take.

I have read the book Practicing Medicine without a license

I am 68 Years old, 5'10" and weight 210 lbs

Good question. I would start with this protocol to help us determine your vitamin C bowel tolerance

http://www.vitamincfoundation.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8026

When you have a general idea, we can recommend products.

In my case, for example, I can and do take around 20,000 mg daily. I have a high bowel tolerance. I have no signs of heart disease.

My own father could only tolerate 200 mg, and died of heart disease a lot younger than he expected (didn't smoke or drink). If the well absorbed liposomal vitamin C were available, he might have lived a lot longer.

So there are more options today to get the equivalent of 10,000 to 20,000 mg of vitamin C daily.

With an excellent diet (low sugar, no trans fats, few manufactured foods) you can apparently get by on less vitamin C daily.

Factors such as high blood sugar (diabetes), toxic dental work, and we now think high iron (ferritin) will interfere with vitamin C therapy.

So we always return to Linus Pauling's general recommendations.

6 - 18 g of vitamin C, and 2-3 grams of lysine for prevention.

5-6 grams of lysine he recommended for those with diagnosed CVD.

Some time back 2 years plus you posted a Matrix, "its the dosage Stupid" If memory serves me correctly. Where is that at? I did a search but apparently it has been wrote over on the circular que of the server. (size set aside on server for data). Perhaps you could re post it. I found it very interesting it might help.

Here is the "Its the Dosage Stupid" link in the archive: http://www.vitamincfoundation.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7593 Is that what you were referring to?

How much C for CVD??

It is easier to answer w/r to lysine because Pauling's general recommendations for vitamin C are 6000 to 18000 mg, regardless of CVD status. For some time I postulated that 10,000 mg daily was enough to prevent CVD. There may be a few exceptions, but as a general rule I believe that if you religiously take at least 10,000 mg of vitamin C daily, you are protected.
