How long to restock vitamin C in the adrenals?
Quote: This is a question from another patient at the clinic.. he wanted me to ask you...
If you would, please, when you get a chance, ask Owen if he has ever heard how much Vitamin C one would have to take to "restock" depleted adrenal glands. Do they take it up more or less at once to maximum capacity, or does it take a certain time to achieve that? I've never come across any such information, but perhaps he has.
Thanks.
We know that the adrenal glands have the highest concentration of vitamin C in the body, so the cells must be similar to white blood cells, i.e., they must have extra receptors to increase vitamin C uptake from the blood. So it would not take long. However, the real issue seems to be atrophy or necrosis of the adrenal tissue, (which might be aggravated by low vitamin C). Replenishing vitamin C is not necessarily going to regrow dead tissue (at least without stem cells.)
Maybe someone at this forum knows.

I can't provide reference because I don't know where I have seen it in my library, but I remember it was pretty quick, less then a month or so.
