New ultra fine ascorbic vs sodium ascobate?

I've been taking ascorbic acid for about forty years, never sodium ascorbate. The new ultra-fine ascorbic is comparatively expensive to the previous version. I've been through one order without researching the forum for dosage information. Is the ultra-fine C meant to be taken in smaller doses? How does it compare to sodium ascorbate? I'm just trying save a few bucks as I have semi retired recently.
