Dear Mr. Zuckerman,

It is a sad day when truth no longer matters.

If the mainstream press now openly sides with powerful special interests, and no longer stands up for the average person, what has America become? I was very dismayed to see the U. S. News World Report use its prestige to name Stephen Barrett's quack watch web site as one of the very few your magazine recommends. The very name of this web site is a good indication of what they are all about. Name calling. Intimidation. I suggest that you check the legal records in Lehigh County Pennsylvania [1] and find out how Dr. Barrett uses the court system to intimidate any doctor or individual who doesn't agree with him.

I personally learned of the great danger that quackwatch represents while trying to find out why a potential safe and very low cost cure for Heart Disease, one that was invented by one of America's great scientists, goes untested. It is because of name callers such as Dr. Stephen Barrett, MD. Few regular scientists wish to battle the quack busters, or be labeled a quack by Barrett and company. Even Nobel prize winners are attacked by Barrett. Millions of people suffer daily because of the efforts of these people to hide the truth about low-cost alternatives to expensive pharmaceuticals and surgery.

Sadly,
